In an impressive moment of perceptiveness, Donna had excused herself under the guise of getting something to eat and left the Doctor, Rose and Jack together alone.
“So, Doc, do you always so narrowly avoid regeneration or was today something special?” Jack smirked at the Doctor.
The Doctor scowled playfully back. “Oh, you’re one to talk.”
Looking from one man to the other, Rose smiled and said, “now, now, boys. We’ve only been reunited for ten minutes and you’re already arguing? That doesn’t bode well.”
Jack’s smirk grew. “Well, if you want, instead of parting kisses like last time, I can give you both welcome-back kisses.”
The Doctor rolled his eyes. “Oh, don’t start.”
Rose laughed. “I don’t know, Doctor. That sounds like a nice idea to me…”
The Doctor’s glare at her didn’t last before he was swept into a three-way hug by Rose and Jack. It was true that the stars were still going out, the universe still needed saving and the Doctor had only just narrowly avoided regeneration, but at least they were together again.

“Oh my. From the stories I’ve heard, I assumed you never even wore clothes.”
Jack turned to see a beautiful woman with delicious curly hair eyeing him up and down. He smirked. “Well, I own them but I try not to keep them on too much. Bad for the skin, you know. Though if you don’t like it, I wouldn’t mind taking them off for you. ” He winked at her before giving her his signature Captain Jack Harkness smile. “I’m Jack, though I assume you know that already. And you are?”
The woman grinned at him, stepping closer to him and trailing a finger down his chest. “I’m River Song, sweetie. And you’re right, I know exactly who you are. Now how about you and your gorgeous coat buy me a drink?”
Jack’s smile grew. “It would be my pleasure.”
