#I bet once everything is over and done with and Jackie/TenToo are being the bickering mother-in-law/son-in-law couple #(only without the actual in-law part because Tentoo hasn't asked Rose and he's still afraid even though he knows she'll say yes #but he's still just flounders a little bit when faced with domesticity and so it's taking a lot longer than he anticipated to pop the question) #One night when he and Rose have been invited to over for dinner #and Pete's still at work and Rose offers to help Tony with his bath and get him put to bed #TenToo and Jackie sit around with a glass of scotch #and Jackie says that though she never would have chosen him for her daughter - she's glad that Rose has him #because she trusts that he will always take care of her and always put her first #and TenToo is touched and more than a little choked up so he awkwardly thanks her #before trying to cut the tension and mentioning that he knows that Jackie secretly enjoys having him as her daughter's... #(lover? boyfriend? husband? he fumbles and can't pick a word) #... in her daughter's life because after all once upon a time JACKIE had come onto HIM #and Jackie almost chokes on her scotch and exclaims that she never did such a thing #and he reminds her of this point #and she insists that he must have read her completely wrong she was just trying to be welcoming #plus had she known he was an alien right off the bat she wouldn't have even tried #and they spend the rest of the time bickering but when Rose finally comes down and rolls her eyes at them #and tells them that it's time her and the Doctor left #the Doctor would actually hug Jackie goodnight and whisper that Rose is lucky to have had a Mum like her
