Anonymous: I love your Rose-love, and as much as I think the Doctor believes in her, I had always thought that his faith wasn't in Rose so much as it was in humanity in general. There are so many people that he sees doing amazing things, and so many times he expresses his love for humans, Rose was just one beautiful, shinning example. I'm not in any way trivializing her (I'm a bit in love with Rose, as well) but I think the doctor believes in people. Why else would he keep saving us?

I agree. Satan’s Pit!Ten was strictly referring to Rose, which is what I was referencing, but I think the overall picture (and the faith that the Doctor had in the God Complex, specifically) is his faith in companions in general, and the goodness and perseverence of humanity.
